Earlier this month, our Founder & CEO Alex Housley was awarded the Emerging Entrepreneur Award at the tenth annual Enterprise Awards.

The awards celebrate the best of the UK’s entrepreneurial talent, and are widely considered to be the ‘Oscars of the Technology Industry’. This year’s ceremony was hosted at the prestigious Goldsmiths’ Hall in the City of London, where Alex proudly received his latest accolade.

Praise from the Enterprise Awards judges

The Emerging Entrepreneur category considers growing startup leaders with a £1 to £3 million annual revenue and this year’s theme was ‘Being Judged by the Company You Keep’. Judges assessed the nominees via tough scrutiny of their growth, innovation, funding, use of capital, use of resources, strategy, execution, ambition, and determination to succeed. 

Alex came out on top, and the judges commended him for the ambition he has shown in leading Seldon, his use of the venture capital he has raised to develop the R&D division, and growing Seldon’s cutting-edge technology stack across serving, monitoring and explainability.

Seldon’s technology was also praised for its role in driving fantastic financial and productivity gains for our enterprise customers, and Alex dedicated this award to the incredible team who are continuing to drive the adoption of machine learning within enterprise. He joined an impressive roster of winners at the Enterprise Awards, including Martina King, CEO of Featurespace, Sara Murray OBE, CEO of Buddi, and Vishal Marria, CEO of Quantexa.

Our product line has received more than nine million installs and we have more than 7,000 active open source customers, with close to three million models having been deployed to date.
