Seldon appoints new VP of Commercial Sales to build out strategy for commercial expansion 

Seldon is delighted to announce the appointment of our new Vice President of Commercial Sales, Tim Shields. Tim will be responsible for building out Seldon’s commercial sales strategy and driving further adoption and deployment of our machine learning tools and services. As Seldon continues to expand its clientele in the UK and overseas, Tim will support and guide the sales team to reach organisations of all shapes and sizes. 

Tim joins the Seldon leadership team with a wealth of experience in sales and enterprise technology. He has an outstanding track record in successfully building out sales teams and growing the footprint of rapidly-scaling companies. Prior to Seldon, Tim was Senior Director of Corporate Sales EMEA at end-point security vendor CrowdStrike, where he was responsible for leading the sales team, growing the headcount, and driving a significant increase in revenue. 

In addition, Tim was also previously Inside Sales Director for EMEA at Acquia – an open source content management system. There he led the corporate sales and channel strategy, as well as business development. He also led the corporate sales team at Nimsoft, an infrastructure monitoring vendor. Nimsoft was later acquired by CA Technologies for $350 million.

Tim will be responsible for building out commercial partnerships and sales, as well as building a low-touch sales model for the company, where business leads are generated and nurtured through a time-saving, automated sales process. Tim will also develop a cross-selling strategy for Seldon’s new and existing customers. A scalable and repeatable sales strategy will enable customers to access the Seldon platform in a way that best suits their business.

In his new role, Tim will be responsible for hiring a team of world-class talent and defining the sales process alongside Seldon’s existing sales team. He’ll be working closely with Tanu Chellam, Seldon’s VP Product, and her team to define a solution that’s efficient and easy to deploy in a low touch model. This will underpin plans to expand Seldon’s product range in the coming year.
