As we near the end of the 12 days of MLOps Christmas, it’s time to start planning your 2023! This coming year promises to be another massive year for the MLOps community worldwide, powered by more cutting-edge research and more widespread adoption of best practices and use cases.
We’ve curated a list of some highlights from the events calendar for the next year, there’s so many conferences to choose from so feel free to let us know if you think we’re missing any favorites:
1. Kubecon NA
Chicago, USA
November 6-9 2023
You can’t have MLOps without the Ops and it’s no secret that a huge chunk of the Ops (and DevOps) world have adopted Kubernetes as their deployment platform of choice. Kubecon has grown large enough to have it’s own ‘machine learning and data’ track which will be packed full of MLOps content. Kubernetes users and open source fans can’t afford to miss this one.
(Special mention to Kubecon EU in Amsterdam, The Netherlands 18th – 21th April – a great version of the conference for a European audience)
2. Data Innovation Summit Nordics
Stockholm, Sweden
11th-12th May 2023
A prominent event for the Nordics region that brings together the most influential speakers and organizations to address the biggest topics in AI and innovation. Business-focused. Catch the Seldon team there in person this year.
(The team also organize NDSML (The Nordic Data Science & Machine Learning Summit) on 25th and 26th October 2023 – an event with more focus on these areas)
3. The AI Summit
London, UK
14th-15th June 2023
A business-focused conference set to be one of the largest UK conferences on this topic this year. Vertical-based streams enable a focus on real-life use cases and solutions from AI technology. There’s also a US version of the event held in New York, dates TBD for 2023.
4. EuroPython
Location TBD
17-23 July, 2023
The largest Python conference in Europe which is set to have a number of relevant streams and talks for the MLOps world. Not many details as of yet, but based off of previous years will be a great event to attend. There are also a bunch of smaller Pycon events all over the world if you’re looking for something more local.
5. World Summit AI
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
11th-12th October 2023
A conference with a keen focus on innovation and the future. A must-attend to glimpse cutting-edge tech and new ideas in ethics and debates on burning AI issues. MLOps features as a growing part of their programme.
6. ODSC East
Boston, USA
9th – 11th May 2023
One of the largest applied ML conferences, now expanded with a dedicated day of bootcamps and workshops. A great option for hands-on experience to further your knowledge and training. As organizers put it, the goal of the conference is to bring together the global data science community to encourage the exchange of innovative ideas and the growth of open source software. In the past, ODSC (Open Data Science Conference) might have focussed on traditional data science and included some machine learning content but these days it’s more likely the other way around. With ODSC being so big and having so much ML content, the last couple of years have seen more and more MLOps content being included. The trend is bound to stay the same and we’ll see even more great MLOps talks at the ODSC conferences this year.
(Special mention to ODSC Europe: London, June and ODSC West: San Francisco, Oct 31-Nov 3, 2023)
7. MLOps World
Toronto, Canada 7th – 10th June
The events in 2021 and 2022 were packed full of interesting talks and we fully expect it’ll be even bigger and better in 2023. Despite growing in popularity over the last few years the conference has stuck to being developer-driven and curating a small but dedicated following. Their focus on MLOps doesnt stop them getting a really varied agenda with topics across the tech sphere. Great to attend either virtually or in-person if you’re in North America.
8. REWORK MLOps Summit
Details TBC
The full information on the San Francisco and London iterations of this conference haven’t been released, but are both great options for a MLOps-focused event. Last year the event did a great job of gathering speakers from end-user companies like Chick-fil-A, Capital One and BBC which meant for some really interesting war stories.
9. MLconf
New York, USA
20th March 2023
MLconf is devoted to machine learning and data science and agnostic of any tool, platform, or company. The conference topics cover data science, data engineering, computer vision, AI research, and machine learning. The attendees are data practitioners, startup founders, professors, and students. A smaller, tech-focused event for more practical and hands-on content.
10. Open Source Summit
Vancouver, Canada
10th-12th May, 2023
Organised by the Linux Foundation, this conference is designed to further innovation and sustainability in open source technologies and ecosystems. A key choice for those looking to integrate OSS in their tech stacks. At Seldon, we’re proud of our open source roots and are keen to promote OSS options, this is the right conference to shop around for them.
(Special mention to the European version in Bilbao, Spain from September 19th-21st)
11. ICML 2023
Honolulu, Hawaii
23rd-29th July 2023
The fortieth iteration of this iconic conference is heading to an amazing location this year, making it a very enticing prospect! The Seldon team were honored to present at last years conference and are looking to do so again, watch this space!
